Our History
Realtime multiplayer gaming has been the keyword to summarize GamePoint’s operations since the company was founded in 1998. In the beginning GamePoint hosted servers for first person shooter games, enabling people to play a game against others in realtime. A few years after this GamePoint set foot in the world of social games with the release of their first webgame, Darts, released in 2001. Darts turned out to be a hit and consequently GamePoint’s offer of webgames was expanded. Traffic to GamePoint’s games grew quickly and with this growth the challenge of monetization arose.

In 2004 GamePoint launched Bingo, the company’s first game in which virtual currency was used. From this day on GamePoint’s gaming platform had its very own economy, which today is the main driver for monetization of GamePoint’s service.

GamePoint aims to entertain a worldwide audience with its real time multiplayer social games. Providing social features in our games and extensive community support GamePoint builds on long term relationships with their users.

GamePoint’s Global HQ is situated at The Hagues Beach front Scheveningen in The Netherlands. This is where GamePoint’s operations are directed. Within the offices 50 employees are active in 5 departments all aimed at making GamePoint games an even bigger success.

Our Business Development team wakes up every morning to think about GamePoint’s growth. New user acquisition, Player Retention, New Business Partnerships and Scalability are a few keywords that describe the departments focus.

Community Operations:
Our Community Operations team is the face of our company at the users end. Working globally in an online environment means that the action never stops. The team engages with the users in five different languages every day to make sure every single one of our players is a happy one!

Corporate:
Our corporate department makes sure every employee is looked after well. We love them.

Website Development:
Making sure our websites and games are up and running. 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Game Design & Development:
Our Game design and development team is where new games are created and the website designs come to life. This department is the main contact to our branch in Kiev, Ukraine.

Kiev is where the Game Development magic happens. This is where ideas from The Hague come to life. Our own 20 person game studio works hard every day towards the next launch. Without the guys in Kiev there would be no GamePoint games. The studio has been the main driver in getting the GamePoint games ready for Flash and Mobile.

GamePoint is currently active on a Global scale. This was not always the case. After being founded in the Netherlands the company went on to expand into Germany. After a successful launch of the company’s operations on the German market it was time to think big. With the rise of large social networks a great growth opportunity presented itself to GamePoint and the company managed to become what it is today. A global platform for real time multiplayer games entertaining people from all over the world. GamePoint’s biggest markets are set out in the graph above.

Growth:
Online growth can be very fast. Focus on growth per country and taking effort to understand local culture has grown GamePoint’s presence in France and the U.S. in 2012. With a newly established base audience in these markets GamePoint can go on to grow its presence there even further. At the end of 2012 GamePoint started to focus on establishing a similar base in Spanish speaking countries. The early signs of growth are there and it won’t be long until a proper base is established to build future growth on.

Of course we do not only focus on expanding our service to new geographical areas. In a digital world there’s a constant flow of technological developments. The challenge is to single out the significant changes and get your product ready for the future. Recently Flash technology has enabled us to increase the percentage of people that get into our games dramatically. Also getting our games ready for an growing mobile gaming audience is an important part of our growth strategy.
